Eighty thousand Arabs were driven from Jerusalem by Israeli military and terror gangs in 1948. In 1949, Israel's admission to the UN was predicated on its recognition of Jerusalem as an International City. In 1950, Israel declared West Jerusalem the capitol of Israel. Their dominance over even West Jerusalem remains unrecognized by the world community.
